Complete Product Information
Product Form & Design
1. Product Form
Thin Trapezoidal 30-Degree Steel Design: The product comes in the form of an ultra-thin carbon steel blade boasting high hardness and excellent flexibility. The blade maintains a 30-degree angle to the material, with the tip forming a sharp trapezoidal triangle optimized for pressing and scoring.
Snap-Off Blade Format: Diagonal score lines are stamped deeply and evenly across the steel surface, allowing users to safely snap off dull segments to instantly refresh the blade’s sharpness.
Standard Locking Pattern: A circular hole and a notch are stamped at the base/tail of the blade, engineered to fit perfectly onto the slider pin inside the utility knife handle.
2. Plastic Tube Case
The packaging consists of a translucent white, rigid plastic tube/case. It serves as a safety container for stacking multiple blades, preventing accidental cuts during transport and protecting the steel from moisture and rust.
3. Industrial Standard Size
The proportions, width, and thickness of the A-100 blade strictly adhere to universal standards (typically a large blade size with a thickness of approximately 0.5 mm and a width of 9mm). This allows it to be compatible with any standard 18mm utility knife handles available on the market.
Operating Instructions for A-100 Spare Blades
1. Replacing a New Blade into the Handle
Open the Tail Cap: Remove the end cap from the back of the utility knife handle (this cap usually doubles as a blade-snapping tool).
Remove the Slider: Slide the button (blade slider) backward to remove it, along with the old, worn-out blade, from the handle.
Unpack the New Blade: Carefully open the plastic case and take out one new blade (be cautious as blades may stick together).
Mount to the Slider: Place the circular hole at the base of the blade onto the pin/peg of the slider, ensuring a flush and secure fit.
Reinsert into the Handle: Push the slider assembly (with the new blade attached) back into the knife handle track from the rear, then snap the tail cap back into place.
2. Using the Knife for Cutting or Scoring
Extend the Blade Properly: During operation, do not extend the blade too long, as excess length causes flexing or breakage under pressure. Extending it by just 1–2 segments is sufficient.
Maintain the Correct Angle: Hold the blade at a 30° angle relative to the material surface to allow the tip to bite and slice efficiently.
Lock the Blade Every Time: If your knife handle uses a manual wheel lock, tighten it before scoring. If it uses an auto-lock system, it is ready to use immediately.
3. Snapping Off a Dull Blade Segment
When the knife begins to feel dull or the tip chips, follow these steps to snap off the segment:
Extend the Dull Segment: Slide the blade out so that the score line of the segment you want to break aligns perfectly with the very edge of the knife handle.
Use the Tail Cap: Remove the tail cap from the utility knife handle. Locate the built-in slot on the cap and slip it over the dull tip of the blade.
Snap in a Safe Direction: Apply pressure to snap the blade backward (away from the sharp edge). Always snap it downward toward the ground or into a blade disposal box to keep flying metal fragments away from your eyes and face.
Safety Precautions
Wear Safety Glasses or Gloves:
Always exercise caution during the blade-snapping process, as fragment shards can fly off unexpectedly.
Blade Disposal: Snapped blade segments remain extremely sharp. Wrap them thoroughly with adhesive tape before discarding them into the trash bin to protect sanitation workers from accidental cuts.
Applications & Use Cases
This blade size is a medium-to-large industrial standard, making it highly versatile:
Home / DIY Projects:
Unboxing courier packages and cutting through thick corrugated cardboard boxes.
– Home improvement tasks, such as cutting foam boards, trimming wallpaper, or slicing thin plastic awning sheets.
Office / School / University:
High-volume paper trimming and cutting presentation boards (corrugated plastic sheets/feature boards or foam boards).
– Crafts, architectural scaling models, or heavy-duty papercrafts.
Factories / Warehouses:
– Slicing heavy plastic strapping bands on pallets.
– Cutting stretch film/shrink wrap, rubber sheets, or thermal insulation panels.
Construction Sites / Outdoor Trades:
Electrical Work: Stripping large cables, cutting heat-shrink tubing, or slicing flexible plastic conduits.
Painting & Glazing: Scraping off adhesive residue, paint splatters, or old silicone along glass edges and smooth surfaces.
